The Glenn Spring Road provides great morning views of the east side of Casa Grande Peak and the Chisos Mountains in addition to access to Pine Canyon, Juniper Canyon, Glenn Spring and the River Road.

Pine Canyon offers four great back country campsites in addition to access to the Pine Canyon trailhead. This trail reaches the near the base of Lost Mine Peak - though not connecting. It ends at a magnificent pour off.

Juniper Canyon Road reaches two remote back country campsites and the trailhead for the Juniper Canyon Trail into the Chisos and the Dodson outer loop trail. The trailhead approaches the back side of the South Rim and offers magnificent views.

Glenn Spring is an oasis in the Big Bend desert that has provided life giving water for thousands of years. It was the basis for a farming and wax processing community in the early 1900's.

Glenn Spring was a ranching and wax processing community, famously attacked by raiders from Mexico in 1916. This led to U.S. Cavalry being stationed in the area until they were called to service in World War I. A rich history in still in view in the remains of the settlements and in the gravesites located on a nearby hill.

The Glenn Spring Road traces the eastern edge of Juniper Draw as it progresses south to meet the River Road. Normally dry, the draw can be a torrent when flash floods hit the area.
