Ruins of the Crawford-Smith Ranch give quite testament to the will and determination of early ranching families in the Big Bend area - and to the life giving water supplies that nourished them and allowed production of fruits and vegetables along with livestock. Ranch buildings remain as well as a spring in a canyon to the west of the ranch which continues to flow - until it simply runs into the alluvial sands of Fresno Creek.
